Appearance and Reality by F.H. Bradley

Appearance and Reality, 1897, by F.H. Bradley is an interesting work that is often appraised in non-dual discussions even though F.H. Bradley was British and probably never had heard of non-duality or any eastern traditions dealing with these problems. F.H. Bradley was known to be reclusive and had a reputation for shooting cats. But at some point in his life, he must have come to some sort of spiritual realization. His main analysis is similar to Shankara´s: The world of our ordinary experience turns out upon inspection to be contradictory, so it can’t be fully and finally real; what is fully and finally real is a non-dual Absolute in which all those apparent contradictions are resolved through that very non-duality.
